Mary Ann and Jacob

Mary Ann and Jacob are always lots of fun to be around. Jacob admittedly does not particularly enjoy having his photo made. But he was a great sport about it, as always. We chose a beautiful fall day late in the afternoon. We tried to include there dogs with limited success.

Fun Capturing Speed

I spent some time this weekend photographing this young man on his "crotch rocket". I found it very challenging to strike a balance between having the subject in focus and the background streaking to give that sense of speed. Of coarse, Photoshop can do a lot to create that illusion.

We can almost recognize facial features of the mystery driver.Nothing beats a 85mm f1.8 portrait lense to capture the eyes that my daughter fell in love with.

Off Road

Today Steve, Sara and I went to Kentucky to do some 4 wheeling. Despite the severe drought, we were still able to find some mud holes.

Cumberland Mountain State Park

Some thing are always best first thing in the morning. Driving home from work after a long night shift, I have always wanted to detour into CMSP which is almost in the city limits of Crossville, Tennessee. I was taken by the still reflection of the lake near the beautiful stone bridge. Insects taking care of business and the early morning light reflected off this wild flour also caught my attention.

Let there be light!

It happened this weekend just in time for Mothers Day. I think that it was more like an early Fathers Day as I got studio lights. The following is an example of a few of my first shots taken with them.

Friday in the Park

Friday, May the 4th was our 28th aniversary. The day was spent at Dollywood with Joey, Sara and Lora. Below are a few images from that day.

Sara absolutely hates to have her picture taken.
Joey, with his doo-rag and sunshades prepares for a day of NOT preparing for exams.

Lora looking out the window at Backstage restaurant.

The blacksmith warmed up the crowd with a very hot performance.

The potter's skill was only matched by his charm with the women in the crowd.
